Can I bring my own food/rentals?
To ensure you have the best possible experience at the Garden, we have partnered with and require the use of Best Impressions Caterers for all your catering and equipment rental needs (incl. chairs, tables, linens, etc) with the exception of cakes.
What can we use for our grand exit?
Departures of the bridal couple may not be celebrated with rice, any type of confetti, or bird seed. Sparklers may be used outdoors but must be picked up and disposed of to avoid burning the Visitor Pavilion Entryway. You are welcome to use anything else that does not harm the environment or our grounds as long as it is cleaned up at the end of your event.
What is the role of the DSBG Event Coordinator during my wedding?
A Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden staff member will be present before, during and following your event to address any questions or concerns that may arise. On the day of your event, the DSBG venue coordinator will be responsible for greeting your bridal party and showing them to the dressing rooms, greeting your vendors and offering assistance, and greeting your guests and guiding them to the ceremony. After the ceremony, the DSBG event coordinator remains on-site if any issues arise but does not coordinate beyond this point. This person is not available to act as your event planner or director. We recommend that you hire a professional event planner to guide you through the planning process and to be present the day of your event.
Can I bring in my own alcohol?
All bar services must be purchased through and handled by Best Impressions Caterers. If you choose to serve alcoholic beverages, the caterer assumes responsibility for the serving and consumption of those beverages. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow outside alcohol onto the grounds. If you would like alcoholic beverages setup in the dressing room prior to your ceremony, please coordinate your order with Best Impressions Caterers or your DSBG event coordinator.
Can the farm tables in the Levine Pavilion be moved?
The farm tables can be rearranged but are not allowed to be removed from the Levine Pavilion.
What is the rain plan for outside weddings?
If the guest count is 200 or less, then the ceremony will be moved to the Great Hall and the cocktail hour to the Wren room, while the Great Hall is being flipped for Reception. If the guest count exceeds 200 then the group will need to rent a tent a week before the wedding at the latest.
What decorations are we allowed to bring?
We allow any decorations as long as they don’t harm the environment or our grounds and can be removed at the end of your event.
Can I place a hold on a date and does that require a deposit?
We are happy to place a complementary hold on a date for two weeks, following a tour with a DSBG coordinator.
