BELMONT, N.C. – Join Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden to experience one of nature’s most amazing phenomena – the solar eclipse of 2017 on Aug. 21.
The sun will first enter the shade of the moon around 1:11 p.m. in Gaston County and maximum coverage will be around 2:40 p.m. A limited supply of eclipse glasses will be available to borrow or can be purchased directly from The Garden Store. The Garden’s viewing party will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and will feature crafts for kids including a do-it-yourself pinhole viewer, sun dial, and Earth, Sun & Moon Model. Sproutycakes Bakery will be selling themed dessert delights and a signature cocktail will also be available for purchase among other snacks and beverages.
The Garden’s Solar Eclipse Viewing Party is free with general Garden admission. Admission for Garden members is free, $12.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors 60+, $6.95 for children 2-12 and free for children under the age of two.
