Garden to Host Free Open House for Teachers

BELMONT, N.C. – School and homeschool teachers are invited to an Open House during Sip & Stroll at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden on Thursday, Aug. 17 from 4 to 9 p.m. for free with a valid school ID

This even offers teachers an opportunity to both enjoy the Garden and learn how its array of natural resources can help supplement classroom instruction. Teachers can meet with Garden instructors, learn about guided school programs through activities and demonstrations, stroll the grounds, listen to live music, and mingle with other educators in the area. Beverages and snacks are available for purchase in The Garden Store. All teachers are also welcome to enter a drawing to win a free guided school program!

The Garden offers programs for youth year-round including school and homeschool programs, classes, camps, scout programs, birthday parties, and other opportunities to engage youth. More information is available at www.dsbg.org/program.

The Open House for Teachers is free for all school and homeschool teachers with a valid school ID. The event is also open to the general public with general admission. Admission for Garden members is free, $12.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors 60+, $6.95 for children 2-12 and free for children under the age of two.
