Bring your lunch to the Garden’s Visitor Pavilion and enjoy a presentation on the first Tuesday of each month (except July). Presentations are free for members or with general admission.

Butterflies in the Garden
***Please note, this event has been cancelled.*** Tuesday, April 7; 12 – 1 p.m.
From spring through early fall, the Garden will be teeming with beautiful butterflies. Find out where to look, how to identify and what makes these insects so special from the Garden’s very own Butterfly Coordinator, Joey Bynum. Don’t forget, the Garden’s Butterfly Bungalow will open on Saturday, May 23!

Jamie Kirkell

Join Jamie Kirkell, as he shares his journey, practice and methods as a master silk artist. Kirkell’s silks have been shown in exhibitions throughout the United States in botanical gardens, museums and galleries. A short demonstration allowing for audience participation will also take place. Kirkell’s Exhibition of Silk Tapestries and Scarves opens in the Gallery Halls of the Garden on Friday, May 1 and closes on Sunday, May 31.

Kirk Fanelly

Join artist Kirk Fanelly, as he discusses the vision, imagery and process of his Exhibition of Botanical Inlaid Cut Paper showcased in the Garden’s Gallery Halls from Friday, June 12 until Sunday, August 2. Want to create more? Join Kirk Fanelly Saturday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m. in a workshop to learn how to create your very own inlaid cut paper painting to take home.

A Conversation with George Zhao
Tuesday, August 4; 12 – 1 p.m.
Join Jaimie Sanita, Director of Education,
and George Zhao, president of Hanart Culture which produces the Chinese Lantern Festival as they discuss the upcoming event taking place at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Find out what to expect, the inspiration as well as the process behind the hundreds of all new lanterns featuring vibrant flora and fauna on display in the Garden starting Friday, August 28.
