Gardening to Save Pollinators
Tuesday, Sept. 3; 12 – 1 p.m.
We depend on pollinators for one-third of the food we eat (and most of the plants we grow in our gardens) but half of 200,000 pollinator species are threatened. North Carolina environmental journalist Jodi Helmer, author of Protecting Pollinators: How to Save the Creatures that Feed Our World, will share information about the threats pollinators are facing and what we can do in our gardens to support birds, bees, butterflies and other pollinator species.

Twelve Months of Rose Care
Tuesday, Oct. 1; 12 – 1 p.m.
Jack Page and Robert Myers, Owners of The Perfect Rose, LLC and Show Chairs of The Charlotte Rose Society, will discuss the basic steps necessary each month for a successful rose garden. Learn tips for proper flower bed construction, the latest on deer, rabbit, and other garden pest repellents, and proper spraying and pruning techniques. Follow up with your rose garden related questions!

Wandering in Wonder
Tuesday, Nov. 5; 12 – 1 p.m.
Wandering in wonder has become a way of life for freelance writer and nature photographer Sue Wasserman. Join Sue as she shares her magical journey through the wildflowers that both inspire and teach her rather amazing life lessons. Sue, who has written for publications such as Southern Living and The New York Times, will be happy to hang out after the presentation to share favorite Western NC trails as well as sign her most recent book, A Moment’s Notice.
