Join us Saturday, April 22 for a Composting Chat and Nature Art for children or visit on Sunday, April 23 to learn all about honeybees and Eastern bluebirds…

There will be crafts for kids. Stay for the afternoon and enjoy lunch from the food truck.

Lost Hollow: The Kimbrell Children’s Garden 11a.m.-3p.m. – All ages are welcome to join us for soil painting, nature weaving, stone balancing, and more! Kids come have some fun with a craft set up by Lost Hollow. 

Levine Pavilion 11-11:45a.m. – Learn how to compost. A horticulture staff member will teach you how to turn your food and lawn scraps into organic fertilizer for your garden!

Learn about the Birds and the Bees

All About Eastern Bluebirds – Wren Room 10:30a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – $20 materials fee. 

This class will teach you about the Eastern Bluebirds. Placement of houses, their nesting habits, and the foods they eat and more. Each participant will receive a pre-built bluebird house for attending the class. 

Introduction to Bee Keeping -Orchid Conservatory Classroom – 11a.m.-1p.m. – $30 class fee. 

Learn what it takes to be a hobbyist beekeeper! This class will be taught by Marty Gutowski, a professional beekeeper and he will give you a broad introduction, including how to select hive locations and equipment necessary to start and maintain a honeybee colony and manage the hive throughout the season.
