Join Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden for Children’s Art Weekend on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Families are invited to engage in creative hands-on activities, crafts and more including live performances.
On Saturday, March 9th, performances will be held between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. by local student groups including string students of Hannah Pendergrass Music Studios, Piedmont Charter School Chorus, Southwest Middle School Dance Team, and Le Croix Academy for the Performing Arts. Sunday, March 10th will feature 30-minute performances by Lona Bartlett, storyteller and puppeteer, at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
Families can engage with the arts at five craft stations that include painting, weaving, and more. Yard games will also be available, weather permitting. Snacks, hot dogs, sausages, hamburgers and beverages will be available for purchase. Visitors will also discover spring blooms beginning to emerge throughout the Garden. In celebration of the Garden’s 20th Anniversary this year, 20,000 bulbs will be blooming throughout the spring months. Daffodils are abundant now and tulips are gradually starting to pop.
Children’s Art Weekend is free with general Garden admission. Admission for Garden members is free, $12.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors 60+, $6.95 for children 2-12 and free for children under the age of two. For more information call (704) 825-4490 or visit www.DSBG.org.
