Bearded irises are the most widely planted of all irises, and are divided into 'dwarf' (less than 15"), 'intermediate' (15-28"), and 'tall' (28" or taller). The American Iris Society has further divided the dwarfs into 'minature' (4-10") and 'standard' (10-15") categories. Plant in full sun to part shade and provide standard good-draining garden soil.
