“Back to the Garden” Green Series
The Garden is happy to announce the debut of the “Back to the Garden” Green Series! This series of programs is designed to inspire both awareness and an appreciation of the Earth’s environment. The series focuses on establishing gardens and growing your own produce, green sustainability, conservation, getting back to the basics of good gardening practices and much more. Join us each month and learn how to put the “green” back in your life!
Composting Workshop
Instructor: Erin Murphy, Orchid Conservatory Supervisor
Learn how to turn waste into treasure through composting! From grass clippings and fallen leaves to kitchen scraps and twigs, composting is nature’s way of recycling. Compost is great for gardens and landscaping and you save money by not having to buy soil conditioners, mulch, and fertilizer. Learn how to create an easy and inexpensive compost bin, find out what belongs in your compost bin and what doesn’t, learn how composting improves soil fertility and more!
