Worldwide Knit in Public Day

Date & Time:
Sunday Jun 12, 2011
9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Knitters are invited to gather for the third year in celebration of Worldwide Knit in Public Day. Beginners can learn how to cast on (make their first stitch), while experienced knitters can learn a new stitch or just enjoy knitting with fellow enthusiasts. Plant-based yarns made from bamboo, corn starch, and even milk will be available to see and feel, as well as traditional fibers and their sourcessuch as sheep, alpacas, and angora rabbits! (Outside, of course!) Local business Things Remembered will have extra needles for those interested in learning to knit, along with other area knit shops. Stop by and knit something to benefit With Friends Maternity Home, North Carolinas first transitional living facility for homeless and pregnant teens.
General Garden Admission Applies: Members free; Adults $12, Seniors (60 +) $11, Children 4-12 $6.
