Join us for a weekend of education and adventure as you learn how to practice sustainable living with easy suggestions to help you get started or sign up for our Upcycled Card class (ages 12+) – space is limited with easy online registration below.
The weekend will be filled with exciting educational and hands-on activities and crafts including a guided hike at 1 p.m., a variety of upcycled crafts, lawn games, and more. Live entertainment includes music by Caleb Davis from noon to 2 p.m. and a hula performance by Aloha in Motion Dance Company from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Dr. Dave Hamilton will present from 11 a.m. to noon on incorporating native NC plants into home landscapes along with tips on using native plants for medicinal purposes.
Local organizations including Carolina Thread Trail, NC Natural Heritage Program, Renu Energy Solutions, Schiele Museum, Piedmont Area Wildlife Services, NC Butterfly Highway, Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, Greeneman Farms, NC Native Plant Society, and Carolina Raptor Center will be onsite Saturday and/or Sunday to provide additional hands-on activities and speak with guests about their impact in our community.
A variety of food and beverage options will be available for purchase from The Garden Store, food trucks and vendors. The Garden Store will host a wine tasting from noon to 2 p.m. while supplies last.
Admission to Earthfest is free with general Garden admission. Admission for Garden members is free, $12.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors 60+, and $6.95 for children 2-12. For more information, visit www.DSBG.org. The Garden is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Create one-of-a-kind upcycled cards and postcards using materials that might ordinarily get tossed. Explore your inner art while becoming inspired to think ‘green’ and gift sustainably. Optional: Bring a favorite colorful cereal or snack box for postcard construction. Best for ages 12+.
