Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden offers a wide and wonderful selection of community classes, summer camps, school programs, and group tours, both guided and self-guided. People of all ages bloom at DSBG!

DSBG Educational ProgramsDSBG's Education Department offers a wide variety of educational programs, each tailored to meet the needs of a specific audience. Some programs are designed for group registration while others are open only to individuals enrolling themselves, their children or their families.

Topics vary but most focus either on horticulture and gardening or on some aspect of life science or conservation. Program formats include classes, tours, lectures, workshops, symposia and events.

You can enroll yourself, your child(ren) or your family in a class, online or by mail, simply download a class registration form and return it to DSBG with your payment.

If you would like to bring a school group or scout group to the Garden, see the School & Scout Groups section on this site or contact us via our online Trip Availability Request form for more information regarding your specific needs.

Meet the staff...
Cynthia D. Klemmer, Ph.D., Director of Education, leads the Garden’s staff of professional educators. A volunteer interpreter group assists the professional staff by conducting tours and assisting with classes. For more information on the Education Department or its staff call (704) 829-1270.

All community, summer camp, and school group programs conducted by the Education Department require pre-registration and a pre-paid program fee.

How to register:
To register for community programs & camps, Register Securely Online or complete a Registration Form and mail it with your pre-payment to the Education Department. To make your reservation and credit card pre-payment, call (704) 829-1271.

To register a school group, scout group or college class for a program, call (704) 829-1270.

What about refunds?

In the event that the Education Department cannot enroll an individual or group in the program requested, the pre-paid program fee will be returned. If the individual or group cancels the reservation, partial or full refunds may be made at the sole discretion of the Education Department.
